Bart Liddon
Bart Liddon has been using his knowledge and perspective of home building for morethan 40 years. As a custom home builder Bart uses his experience to build exceptionalhomes. His well-thought-out and time-tested construction procedures has gained BartLiddon Homes a flawless reputation.
Bart has served the building industry, his community and the Home Builders Association for many years and is well respected in the community and amongst his colleagues. A native of Dothan, Bart graduated from the University of Alabama before receiving his master’s degree in City Planning from Georgia Tech.
Beginning in 1976 Bart successfully built custom homes in the highly competitive Atlantamarket before returning home. Bart has been featured in the Wall Street Journal and isa two-time winner of the prestigious Professionalism Award from the Greater AtlantaHome Builders Association and a three-time winner of the Builder of the Year for theHome Builders Association of Dothan and the Wiregrass Area.
Bart picked right up after moving home to Dothan and became involved. Not only has Bart served as President of the Home Builders Association for two years, 2012 and 2015, he has served on the Board of Directors since 2008. He has served in so many capacities including state director for 8 years and this will be Bart’s tenth year serving as NationalDirector. He has tirelessly volunteered time and talent traveling to meetings all over the country on behalf of our Association.
Bart is an advocate for the industry and workforce development. He sits on the DothanHistoric Preservation Council, he has served on the state advisory council for career tech, he is a board member of the Southeastern WORKS, and he has been chair and co-chair of WOW (World of Works) for 4 years. In fact, Bart, along with Powell Brewton, was instrumental in getting World of Works started in the Wiregrass. The WOW is an interactive career experience for more than 4,000 eighth grade students from the Wiregrass area. For his efforts, in February 2019, Bart was honored with the LeadershipAward for Excellence in promoting career and technical education.
Bart has been a very busy man but he always has time for our Association, the community and the building industry. His positive attitude, his attention to detail and quality have served to make Bart Liddon Homes a leader in our industry. His roles have been many and his leadership has been impeccable. It is with honor we induct Bart Liddon into the Hall of Fame! Congratulations Bart!
